Like probably so many people around the world I read the Facebook S1 yesterday. If you look at last year gross revenue you can estimate that they get about $4 dollars (a little over $1 net) per user per year.

Based on that, I was wondering if people would be willing to pay them $5 per year for not serving us advertising and not following our implicit action?

Personally, I think I would although I don’t think that they’ll be willing to accept that as they are probably trying to figure out how to extract more than that amount from my presence on Facebook.

I think however that many may actually be happy to be targeted and be served targeted advertising.

What would you do?
